Here We Go, Our First Paws pet boutique Blog!

25th Apr 2012

Here WE GO...(loved that Bud Light Commercial with the rescue dog!)...our first Paws pet boutique blog entry!

larry-ben2012w.jpgToday there are so many more opportunities to listen and communicate with our clients & friends than were available 12+ years ago when we opened our doors in historic Annapolis back in 1999. It's fabulous to be able to interact and share photos with our followers on Facebook and try to keep folks up-to-date with our new goods, specials and dog-friendly fundraising events through our VIP emails and on our News & Events Page. Now I'm thrilled to have an opportunity to personally share with you what I'm excited about on a regular basis through our blog! As always, I'm open to your ideas and suggestions!

Just last Friday we hosted our first Canines in the Courtyard Feel-Good Friday to benefit Northern Chesapeake Sheltie Rescue. We feel so lucky to have this hidden garden courtyard behind our white cottage store that we just had to share it! Raffles, refreshments and dogs...what's not to love!? Plus $700 was raised to help this great non-proft. Here are a couple of photos below of puppy Asta and SPCA rescues Seamus and Aidan right before the festivities began - and that's Larry and my rescued pup Ben above getting ready for the Pup-Person Look-Alike Contest that night.

Over the last 12-13 years, we've enjoyed hosting lots and lots of events that support animal welfare. We created this business to make a difference and offer unique goods that celebrate dogs, cats and their people. What would we do without them in our lives?

 With Mother's in Mind...

So to that last point I wanted to share these beautiful new silver charms that we just received Monday from local artist Tracy Menz. Exclusively made for Paws pet boutique, no two charms are alike, as each is made by hand from 5" of sterling silver with an added hand-shaped dangling paw and heart charm that is formed from pure fine silver - do you see the tiny heart on the paw?

Tracy and I were in one of our many conversations about how animals will change your life for the better if you are open. Tracy created these reclaimed silver open heart charms to celebrate the love of animals. We are calling them our Eternal Open Heart Charms. A beautiful reminder of the unconditional love animals share with us - they'll make for special gifts anytime of the year, but especially perfect for Mother's Day coming up in a couple weeks. Love eco-friendly gifts that are made in America, don't you?

For those of you with a good sense of humor our "Let me get this straight, my Grandchild is a DOG!" signs may be an appropriate Mother's Day gift as well! Gotta love they're made in USA too.

OK, time for me to sign off and get back to work. Hope you take a moment today to make some tails wag. It will make you smile.

Wags,

Michelle
