Howl-iday Pet Photos at Paws
Thursday, November 20, 2008

"Pupparazzi" Jim Poor captured pets from behind his lens from 3 to 9 PM. Many folks now have a wonderful photo keepsake or are ready to send their photo holiday cards. From each photo sitting $2 was donated to a pet charity. Participants had a vote on which pet charity they would like to receive the donations from the evening. Pittbull Rescue was drawn as the winner. We must say that the 4 Pittbulls/Pittbull Mixes that joined us for photos throughout the day were some of the most well-behaved models! Thanks to all who joined us - it was fun.

3rd Annual Little Ben’s Big Fundraiser Cruise
Ben's Fundraiser Cruise Ben's Fundraiser CruiseFriday, September 12 from 7 PM to 10 PM
over $10,000 was raised for ALDF!

We host this Cruise as our way of thanking Animal Legal Defense Fund for all they do improve the lives of animals. Our little Jack Russell terrier, Ben, was rescued, along with over 300 other dogs, from a puppy mill/hoarder that had them “living” in unthinkable circumstances. This is one of many court cases initiated by ALDF where they speak on behalf of the animals. Thanks to ALDF, Ben’s court case was won so he and all his former fur friends can now live in homes with love. Unfortunately the work continues, so join us in supporting ALDF. All proceeds from this Cruise for Compassion were donated to ALDF. Thanks to all who joined us!

  • BIG Thanks to Southwest Airlines for donating a pair of round trip tickets (no blackout dates) anywhere they fly to our raffle. Our winner Angie Wasylak is now free to fly about the country!
  •
  • Departing from the Annapolis City Dock, Watermark’s Harbor Queen,  provided the perfect setting for people and dogs to enjoy this special evening.
  •
  • Dan Haas & Ben's Bones Trio kept feet and paws tapping as they entertained guests like nobody else could.
  •
  • The food was amazing thanks to donations from Annapolis Whole Foods, Cabot Cheese, Trader Joe's Grocery,  Graul's Market in Cape St. Claire, Loews Annapolis Hotel/Breeze Restaurant, Roly Poly, Baja Fresh, Lara Bars, Eco-Cuisine, Auntie Anne's Pretzels, Emily's DessertsPotato Valley, Davis' Pub, Purple Tooth Wine Bar, Weiss Market and others.
